Biography
Kevin Wayne Durant was born on September 29, 1988, in Washington DC, and grew up outside Washington DC, specifically in Prince George’s County in Maryland.

He studied at the National Christian Academy, where he played for their basketball team for two years before transferring to Oak Hill Academy, where he played for a year. During his senior year, he enrolled at Montrose Christian School. Throughout that season, he gained a total of seven inches and was 6 feet 7 inches tall. Before starting his last high school basketball season, Kevin was already signed to the University of Texas.
He finished the season as the Washington Post All-Mate Basketball Player of the Year and the 2006 McDonald’s All-American Game’s Most Valuable Player.
Family
Kevin Durant was born to Wanda Durant and Wayne Pratt. But, for most of his younger years, he was raised by his mother and grandmother, Barbara Davis, after his father left. Wayne left Kevin before he was a year old. Meanwhile, his father was only 23 years old. His father worked in the Library of Congress while his mother worked for the Postal Service. Her parents, later, ended in an official divorce.
Kevin’s father, Wayne, returned to his life at the age of 13. Although it wasn’t easy initially, he didn’t stop trying to mend the relationship between himself, his kids, and the mother of his ex-wife, Kevin. It took ten years for Kevin and Wayne to fully recover. Wayne can then be seen accompanying Kevin to a basketball tournament.
Career
He made his name for the first time during the 2006-2007 basketball season. Kevin was still in college during this time and attracted the attention of the University of Texas. He ended up playing for them for a year before deciding to move to the Seattle SuperSonics after college.

The following year, he extended his contract with OKC. Kevin and the team continued to grow over the next season. In fact, in the 2011–2012 playoffs, he led his team to the Western Conference Finals but fell short in offense and defense of the Dallas Mavericks.
In the 2013–2014 season, he was awarded the Most Valuable Player award after scoring a career-high 54 points. His team reached the final of the conference before losing for the second time.
The next season (2014-2015) was a season full of injuries for him. He was diagnosed with a Jones fracture before he developed ankle pain, sprained left toe, pain, and discomfort in his left side. He did not play for the rest of the season starting on March 27, when he had to undergo surgery on his ailing leg. Kevin’s last season with OKC was in 2015-2016.
